Before the lesson
Use the single learner page in pairs. Personal or imagined answers can vary; there is no fixed answer key.
- Read the bag exchange and notice a book, two pens and three books.
- Ask the bag, home and look-and-count questions; check person becomes people.
- Plan six picnic items for four people and report the agreed amounts.
Support and extension
Provide familiar object words. Extend with What else?; check noun forms and is/are rather than judging personal quantities.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
