Before the lesson
Print the student pages and retain answers. Review -er, more and irregular better / worse, plus spelling in bigger and easier.
- Read Choosing a hotel and complete Part A without combining more and -er.
- Fill Two flats and complete Part C, using the supplied prices and ages accurately.
- Write three comparisons with than, then compare two study places and give two reasons for a joint choice.
Support and extension
For support, provide adjective-to-comparative pairs. Accept equivalent comparisons matching the facts and grammatical more quiet alongside the model quieter. Use more modern in the flat context. For an extension, show the size of a difference with a little or much rather than adding a second comparative marker.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
