Before the lesson
Print pages 1–2 and keep the key separate. Review eggs versus rice and containers such as a bottle of water.
- Read the dialogue and complete Part A, noticing plural endings and quantity phrases.
- Complete Lunch for four and Part C corrections and How much / How many questions.
- Write three shopping-list items using the requested noun types, then agree on lunch quantities with a partner.
Support and extension
For support, sort the food nouns and display container + of + noun. Accept some bread or a loaf of bread in the correction task. These are ordinary food-context uses: some nouns can be countable for servings or varieties. An optional extension is to explain the quantities to another pair.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
