Before the lesson
Print pages 1–2 and retain the key. Review am / is / are and spelling changes such as make → making and sit → sitting.
- Read the party dialogue and complete Part A, noticing both the auxiliary and the -ing form.
- Complete Part B with the whole verb phrase, then make Part C negatives and questions.
- Write the three Part D sentences and follow the mime-and-question activity in Part E, including a temporary change this week.
Support and extension
For support, provide be + -ing frames and a small action bank. Check question word order and avoid omitting be. Accept full forms and contractions where appropriate; affirmative short answers remain full. This lesson focuses on now and temporary situations, not future arrangements.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
