Before the lesson
Keep the key separate. Compare usually with now, while explaining that meaning matters more than a single time word. Review state verbs such as need and want.
- Read the dialogue and complete Part A, explaining whether each situation is usual, temporary or happening now.
- Complete Part B, then correct Part C sentences and form the two question-word questions.
- Write the three personal sentences and discuss usual study habits and a temporary change using Part E.
Support and extension
For support, draw two columns for routines and current/temporary situations. In Part C preserve the tense when making Where does Ben work? and What are they doing? Time phrases are helpful clues, not automatic tense rules. Optionally add a follow-up about why a routine has changed.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
