Before the lesson
Print the two student pages and retain answers. Review familiar irregular forms and regular spelling, including studied and stopped.
- Read the dialogue and complete Part A, grouping regular and irregular past forms.
- Fill the beach-day context, then rewrite and reorder the Part C sentences.
- Write three sentences about a recent day, including regular and irregular verbs, then use the supplied partner prompts.
Support and extension
For support, provide a short irregular-verb bank. Accept natural alternative word order in the reordering task and standard spelling variants where relevant. The main target is positive past forms; the speaking questions are already supplied. An optional extension is to put a learner's recent-day account in chronological order.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
