Before the lesson
Use the single learner page in pairs. Personal or invented responses can vary; there is no fixed answer key.
- Notice the different patterns after enjoy, hope and suggest in the climbing exchange.
- Discuss activities learners enjoy or avoid and plans they hope or decide to carry out; extend the suggestion, postponement and offer prompts.
- Choose two new activities together, suggest options and agree on the preparation needed before reporting the decision.
Support and extension
Supply a small verb-pattern bank such as enjoy doing and decide to do. Ask for reasons and responses rather than treating every verb as interchangeable.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
