Before the lesson
Keep answers separate. Contrast I'm working now with I'm working tomorrow, and review the present simple for timetables.
- Read Finding a time to meet and complete Part A, noticing times, people and bookings.
- Complete Checking the diary with full present-continuous phrases, then make the Part C arrangements and questions.
- Write three arrangements with future times and compare diaries with a partner to agree on a place and time to meet.
Support and extension
For support, supply an imaginary diary when learners have no real arrangements. Keep future time explicit so the meaning is not confused with now. Use personal arrangements as models, rather than train schedules. An optional extension is to repeat the agreed meeting arrangement and check both partners have understood it.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
